This Privacy Policy explains how Kane Brothers LLC ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Noorth mobile application ("Noorth" or the "App").
Noorth is built privacy-first and local-first. The large majority of what you create in the App — your notes, reflections, and goals — stays on your device. We do not run analytics, we do not use crash-reporting or advertising SDKs, and we do not sell or rent your data to anyone. This policy describes the small number of cases where information leaves your device and how it is handled.
We collect and process the following limited categories of data.
When you record a voice memo, the audio is captured and stored locally on your device. If you choose to transcribe a memo, the audio is sent to Google's Gemini API solely to generate a text transcription. We do not store your voice audio on our own servers.
The text of your notes, reflections, goals, steps, and substeps is stored locally on your device only. It is not transmitted to or stored by us.
When you add a task or commitment to your calendar or reminders, Noorth writes that entry through Apple's EventKit framework. Noorth only writes entries you create; it does not read back, scan, or collect your existing calendar or reminder data.
During onboarding, our paywall and onboarding provider, Superwall, may collect the answers you give (for example, your role, your current friction, and your daily commitments) in order to personalize your experience and the offers shown to you.
Subscriptions and free trials are managed through Apple's StoreKit and Superwall. We receive your subscription state — for example, whether a subscription or trial is active, expired, or renewing — via App Store Connect and Superwall. We never receive or store your payment card details; all payment processing is handled by Apple.
We share data only with the third-party processors necessary to provide the features above. Each processor handles data under its own privacy terms.
Notes, reflections, goals, and voice audio stored locally remain on your device until you delete them or remove the App. Voice audio submitted for transcription is processed by Google under Google's applicable API data-handling and retention terms. Onboarding survey responses and subscription status are retained by Superwall and Apple, respectively, for as long as needed to provide their services and meet legal obligations.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information. We extend the following rights to all users, including those covered by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
Because most of your data lives only on your device, deleting items in the App or removing the App will remove that local data. For information held by our processors, contact us at the email below and we will help you exercise your rights.
Noorth is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where required by GDPR). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated within the App or on this page.
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
